Safety is our main concern

The yacht has a life raft for up to 8 ppl. She is also equipped with all modern navigation and communication systems like AIS, GPS, radar, chart plotter, Iridium phone, etc.

Explore Svalbard by sea

Spitsbergen Sailing AS is a new company that will offer groups of scientists, photografers, film makers, families and friends a 45 feet, newly built and fully equipped sailing yacht for exploring Svalbard in the summer time.

  

Aleiga, a 45 feet expedition yacht

​

Aleiga is a new yacht and will be delivered to Svalbard in June 2011. Ovni 445 is a yacht built in aluminum and with a lifting keel and rodder for safe and easy sailing in shallow waters. Many of the landings can be done without using the zodiak. We simply drive the yacht up on the shore, and we do the landing directly from the yacht.

2010-11-15 Staff needed

We are looking for experienced (4 to 5) sailors to help sail the yacht from Biscaya Bay (May 1st 2011) to Svalbard.  If interested, please contact us.

2010-10-30 Yacht completion day

Yacht completion time has been scheduled to mid April and will arrive to Svalbard end of June.

 

2010-09-30 Yacht name decided

We have now decided to christen the yacht to "Aleiga". Aleiga is Icelandic for "Everything I own". which summarizes my situation quite well :-)
